Title: Film Awards Jury
Type: Volunteer
Parameters: October/November 2025
Hours: Approximately 25 hours total.
We are looking for jury members to help nominate and select our yearly awards (called the Bloodies). These are given out throughout the week of the festival. This work is done online so anyone from Canada can apply. Do not apply for the jury if you might be submitting a film to the festival this year.
Process
Watch all the films we have selected and vote on.
Select 3 to 4 nominations for each category.
Then work with the other jury members (either online or in-person) to select the winners for approximately 12 to 14 categories total.
Before the nominations and winners are submitted, we will need the jury to audit the names and titles so they are correct on our announcements and correct on our award plaques.
This would all happen between Oct 1 and November 1st and would involve watching the features and short films selected to play the festival. We have strict deadlines to get the nominations and winners selected, so bandwidth in the month of October is critical.

Strong attention to detail.
Nice to have
Strong awareness of indie filmmaking in Canada (especially genre in Canada).
Has participated in previous film juries and/or programming teams.
Has a strong social media presence (to help us promote the festival).
